Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery)

Surgery of the eyelids is most often the first surgical procedure recommended to make the whole face appear younger. Eyelid surgery refreshes the eye region, resulting in a well defined upper eyelid crease, a larger visual field, and a more youthful appearance.

 

Heavy eyelids can make a person look tired, sad, or angry. The upper eyelid is a moving body part and accumulates excess skin with aging. Drooping lower eyelids and bags contribute to an overall tired or sad appearance.

 

Eyelid surgery can reverse the "tired look", by removing the excess skin to reduce hooding and heaviness of the upper eyelid. Lower eyelid surgery removes excess fat bags and tightens the eyelid muscle layer to smooth the lower eyelid region.
